Abdul Karim Zito Dreams FC (DFC) technical director says “Referees exhibit partiality towards them because of our association with the GFA (Ghana Football Association – GFA President Kurt Okraku.”
Kurt resigned from his role as Dreams FC Chief Executive Officer in 2019 last year after he won the GFA presidential elections.
However, according to Zito, Kurt Okraku’s former involvement in Dreams FC goes against them negatively in the league this particular season.
He said all this after he lost to Hearts of Oak by 1 – 0 score in Dawu. “We are being punished because of the GFA President Kurt Okraku, the referees should be firm and do their job, they should be free in their minds when officiating in our matches,” Zito told reporters.
He added that, “Morrison Esso, (the referee) felt if he had granted a penalty in that minute, people would complain that he did so because of the GFA President who is the former Executive Chairman of our club.”
He was certain they should have been awarded a late penalty when Eric Gawu was brought down in the 90th minute.
“Now it’s GIGI and Prince who are leading the club, referees should know this and allow us to play our football.”
Following Seven (7) games already played by Dreams FC, they are eight place (no.8)
