Speaking at a press conference monitored by Yebekagh.com, Jehu-Appiah said Free Primary Health care sits in front of primary care. He added that the three (Prevention, Health promotion and Quality care) fall under primary health care.
Dr Jehu-Appiah explained that the primary ends at the district level but there are other health care stages namely, Secondary at the regional level, Tertiary, and even Paternery.
Primary Health Care will therefore be free at the Primary Care level.
The Doctor emphasised that Free Primary Health Care will not collapse the National Health Insurance Scheme but rather make NHIS better if Mahama wins the 2020 Ghana elections.
To tackle the issue of citizens who do not have the NHIS, a trust fund will be set for example Trust fund for the Kidney disease with stakeholders who determine the distribution of those funds
