The Upper West acting Director of the (GES) Ghana Education Service, Mrs. Theresa Ninang Sung-Abo, GES director dies barely a day after substituting her suspended boss, Mr. Duncan Nsor.
Mrs. Theresa, who was the Wa Director of Education, was asked to assume a temporal role as the head of the GES in the region following the suspension of Mr. Nsor over corruption allegations leveled against him.
According to a public statement by the GES, it stated that one of the reasons for Mr. Nsor’s proscription includes the auctioning of a truck belonging to the Wa School for the Deaf. Mr. Nsor “…refused to inform the school and the Director-General of the Development,”
In addition, Mr. Duncan Nsor is alleged to have placed a price tag on the appointment of headteachers and assistant headteachers of Senior High Schools in the Upper West region. “He also collects as much as Gh¢10,000 and Gh¢4,000 respectively for the position.”
