GH₵ 3.2bn invested in Free SHS by Akufo-Addo – Finance Minister

According to Ghana’s Finance Minister, the Akufo-Addo led government has invested about GH₵ 3.2 billion in the implementation of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) program which started in September 2017.

Mr Ken Ofori-Atta also said amid the implementation of the timely intervention parents have saved approximately GH₵ 3.2 2.2 million as 1.2 million Ghana children have benefited at the Senior High School.

The co-founder of Databank Group disclosed this on the floor of parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2020, presenting the 2020 Mid-year budget review.

The banker furthered that the Government of Ghana has additionally invested GH₵ 3.2 1.6 billion in the creation of jobs for about 100,000 youth through the flagship Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme.
