The heads of Junior High Schools are also tasked with submitting the names of absentee JHS students in Form 1 and 2 for the 2021/2022 academic year, particularly those absent during the critical period of August 7th to 11th, 2023.
This information, along with class attendance records for verification, will be forwarded by Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education to the Director-General through their respective Regional Directors of Education.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken a proactive step to root out unqualified Junior High School (JHS) students who may have prematurely advanced to write the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The driving force behind this initiative is to pinpoint and disqualify JHS students who may have prematurely advanced academically to participate in the 2023 BECE, thereby preventing their admission into Senior High School Form One.
