Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry in Ghana and MP for Tema West constituency, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah said he only went into the midst of people at a registration center only because he is COVID-19 asymptomatic.
“I went in the midst of people because I was asymptomatic.” Hon Carlos Ahenkrah explained that he did not show symptoms.
According to Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, he was asked to isolate himself but went in the midst of people to check a machine that had difficulty. Explaining to Citi news in an interview, he said whether he likes it or not he has to go in the midst of people because it is his duty and one has the right to deny him of his responsibilities.
He stated, “once I know my status I know how to handle myself in the midst of people.“
Citi news, however, disputed his claims, they said if people are to step out in the sun as the MP said then that does not mean he is supposed to go to a registration center.
Mr Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah is not an IT person and he can have other people handle that for him as he is COVID-19 positive.
“The reason you of all people should be cautious of yourself is because, you know your status.” Citi news journalist said.
The health officials trusted you to handle yourself rather than leaving you at the Ga East or any other isolation center but you breached that” He added.
Both Hon Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah and his driver who drove him to the registration center have tested positive for coronavirus.
