Jayne Hrdlicka is an Australian businesswoman who is currently the CEO of Virgin Australia. She was born on January 17, 1967, in Brisbane, Australia. Hrdlicka grew up in Queensland and graduated with a degree in Commerce and an MBA from the University of Queensland.
Early Career
Hrdlicka started her career at Arthur Andersen, where she worked as a consultant for seven years. She then joined Bain & Company, where she worked for 10 years and became a partner in 2000. Hrdlicka gained extensive experience in the retail and consumer goods sectors, working with companies such as Nike, Wesfarmers, and Coles.
Qantas
In 2010, Hrdlicka joined Qantas as Group Executive, Strategy and Technology. She then served as CEO of Qantas’ budget airline Jetstar from 2012 to 2017. During her tenure, she oversaw the expansion of Jetstar’s international operations and the introduction of new routes to Asia and the United States.
