Spain’s National Sports Council has confirmed that La Liga will restart on June 11.
LaLiga president Javier Tebas has confirmed that Spanish football is hoping to return on June 11 with a Seville derby to restart the league earlier.
“I hope it can be that date, we’d like it to be Sevilla vs Real Betis at 22:00.” said Tebas.
Football in Spain was suspended on March 12 because of the spread of Covid-19.
And now Spain’s National Sports Council and La Liga officially confirmed their restart date on Friday afternoon, with the first game back coming six days before the resumption of the Premier League in England.
La Liga further announced that there will be matches every day over a month as they chase a league conclusion by July 19. There are 11 rounds of matches remaining in the current season.
