The city of Bath in the UK has been left shocked and saddened by the news of the fatal stabbing of 18-year-old Ben Moncrieff.
On May 2023, emergency services responded to reports of a critically injured man in the Southgate Street area of Bath city center. Unfortunately, Moncrieff died at the scene. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident, and Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that three people were arrested, but two were released without charge.
The teenager remains in police custody, and authorities have been granted more time to question him.
The incident has caused shock and sadness in the community, and the investigation is ongoing. The Police are reviewing CCTV footage and taking witness statements as part of their investigation. Formal identification of the victim is yet to occur, but Moncrieff’s family has been informed and supported by specially trained officers.

The area outside the restaurant and other nearby shops was cordoned off with police tape, and floral tributes have been placed in Bath city center.
The suspect, a 15-year-old male from south London, has been charged with murder and possession of a bladed article. The victim’s family has been informed of the charging decision and is receiving support from trained officers. The teenager is set to appear before magistrates in Bristol.
The Police investigation is ongoing, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage and interviewing witnesses to gather more information about the incident.
