Dr Bawumia explained that Ghana being the only African nation with the best Mobile Money Interoperability, changing the phase to the next level where ‘Trotro’ passengers can pay their fares through MoMo will make the system simple and easy.
According to Dr Bawumia, there is nothing wrong with trying new things and it will eventually work out once it starts, ultimately ‘Trotro’ passengers will be able to pay transport through MoMo
He said, “In so doing, it will be possible for transport bus passengers to pay from the accounts to promote a cashless system.”
In addition to technology in Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia revealed that the Akufo-Addo led government is initiating a Universal Quick Response (QR) code.
