Mr. Christian Philip Armah, President of the University Students’ Association of Ghana (USAG) and his Executives have reported hike in hostel prices to Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic on 25th August, 2021.

In a meeting with the presidential advisor, the leadership of USAG reiterated the issues of unemployment especially for the Ghanaian University graduate and the need for government to consider the Ghanaian university student as well as graduate in programmes and projects related to the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCTA).

In addition, the outfit relayed concerns from member SRCs on campus accommodation and hikes in hostel prices, security threats, delay in disbursement of grants from the Scholarship Secretariat and the Students Loan Trust Fund.

USAG plead that he does something about the hikes in hostel prices as well as aid in fast tracking the cabinet memo on the Ghana card policy (i.e NO GUARANTOR) for SLT Fund.
