The Immigration Command in Ashanti Region has finally arrested Wei Yanwei. He was put on the wanted list for allegedly killing another Chinese national.
According to a statement released by the Ghana Immigration Service, the chinese national was arrested at Asankragwa in the Western Region.
“Wei Yanwei was arrested in the late hours of Tuesday, 12th of February, 2020 at one Adiembra hideout through an intelligence-led operation,” the statement indicated.
According to the Immigration Command, Wei Yanwei, 25 years of age allegedly stabbed to death Lee Buau, a Chinese businessman. The incident happened at Asankragwa in the Wassa Amenfi West District of the Western Region on 24th January, 2020.
The statement showed that, two other accomplices of the suspect who are also Chinese nationals, were picked up by personnel of the Ghana Immigration Service. Their names stated are Li Daojian and Huang Xuwu.
“They are currently in the custody of the Ashanti Regional Immigration Command and will be handed over to the Ghana Police Service for the necessary action to be taken,” the statement indicated.
