The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science of Technology (KNUST) hosted a Science and Technology Exhibition from May 10 to 13, 2022 at the Great Hall where a Bamboo Furniture was on display.

Drones, solar-powered lighting systems, high-end furniture, fictitious food, better housing burglars, newly established aquaponics, IDL’s virtual school, new agricultural breeds, omega 3 eggs, health equipment, and many more projects were on show.

Among the projects presented was a Retractable and Foldable Bamboo Mini Bar and a Knock Down Center Table which was also made from Bamboo.

Speaking to one representative from the Wood Science and Technology Department, he shared that the main aim was to find alternatives to the Ghana timber resources and conserve the forests.

Bamboo can be used for furniture making in place of other timber resources to reduce deforestation.
